Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: Jan. 12-19

• Report of a burglary in progress 300 Block W. Mullan Avenue. Turned into a civil dispute with individuals moving out of the residence. Cleared, civil.

• Assisted county units with a suicidal subject at Elizabeth Park. Cleared, assist.

• Assisted county with warrant arrest MP52 Silver Valley Road. Cleared, assist.

• Assisted ISP with moving a traffic hazard off of 49 east bound I-90. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Animal complaint on S. Division and Railroad. And again, on the 100 block of E. Portland. This dog was a Houdini. The dog escaped twice from the outside pen and now is placed in the inside pen.

• Houdini escaped the pound again after some unknowing volunteers put him back in the outside cage with 9-foot chain link fence that he is able to climb out of. Dog was recaptured and placed in a cell with a reinforced roof, walls, no windows or even a door. If he escapes again, he should be running for office, he's got K75's vote.

• Assisted K75 with a 911 Hang-up Silver Mountain. Cleared, agency assist.

• Assisted state with locating a possible motorist assist 49 west-bound. Cleared, UTL.

• Juvenile complaint. 10 block of S. Division. Cleared, NAT.

• Parking complaint Second and Mill. Cleared, owners moved the vehicles.

• Attempted vin inspection on the 20 block of Kellogg. Cleared, negative contact via landline and at residence.

• Welfare check of the 700 block of Howard Street. Cleared, subject was code 4.

• Flagged down on the 200 block of Cameron by an individual with a bloody hand. Cleared, agency assist.

• K79 flagged down at the intersection of Cameron and Hill Street. Report taken for domestic battery that took place in the 100 block of Cathryn Avenue. Citation issued to one party and Crisis Resource Center was called to provide assistance to the other party. Parties separated.

• Misuse of 911 at 400 block of Bunker, contacted caller and assisted in writing the non-emergency number for the Sheriff's Office. The reason for the call was to get the phone number for Kootenai Health, explained that is not what 911 was for.

• Dog at large 700 block Caledonia, made contact with owner who was out of town. Will be following up to issue citation to someone for dog at large (this is not the first time).

• Dispatched to firework complaint Caledonia Avenue. Cleared, UTL.

• Assisted county with a welfare call up Terror Gulch. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Called to a possible domestic in the alley between Mission and Mullan on the 200 block. Cleared, two misdemeanor citations issued for drug para. Now if you’re on P&P (probation and parole) and live right behind a police officer, why would you start an argument with your other half basically at the back door of the police officers’ home with meth pipes in your pocket? Sometimes they make it way too easy.

• Welfare check at 100 block of McKinley Avenue. Possibly intoxicated female walking east on McKinley in front of Wah Hing. Unable to locate, while in the area, made contact with the reporting party who also stated they were unable to find her.

• Worked on NIBRS errors in the repository. Luckily most of them are from the crash and have to be fixed on the ARTS end.

• Physical domestic in progress on I-90 at 49. Upon arrival, vehicle broke down on the side of the road with two subjects walking toward Kellogg. Contact was made and there was NO type of physical altercation, they were jumping the fence along I-90 to walk into town. County got a tow coming for their vehicle. Assist, other agency (vehicle was out of Kellogg City Limits).

• Parking ticket issued at Division/I-90 under the overpass where it is signed, no parking here to corner.

• Parking complaint at 20 block of Kellogg Avenue. St. Rita's parking lot vehicle left in their lot, 48-hour notice posted with no contact information for registered owner (registered out of Washington).

• Report of sexual abuse (Lewd Conduct). Initial investigation underway, statements given. Will be setting up forensic interview (no answer today) in order to further investigation. Report taken.

• Report of motorist assist, described as being on the hill between Kellogg and Smelterville on McKinley Avenue. Drove through the area and found no vehicles off the side of the road, nor hazardous (described as wheels wobbling while driving on roadway before breaking down). Unable To Locate.

• Report of disorderly conduct at the base of Silver Mountain. Upon arrival, found to be skiers with one of them being injured. The un-injured party wanted to drive friend to hospital and there was concern for intoxication — breath sample was voluntarily given and an ambulance was called for medical assistance (over the legal limit and unable to provide transportation). Public assist, there was no disorderly conduct.

• Traffic stop on 100 block McKinley, written warning for stop sign.

• Traffic stop at 600 block Bunker, written warning for start safely (pulling onto highway from parking lot) … didn’t see large black and white vehicle when merging onto Bunker.

• Reports.

• Landline request, subject wanted to know information regarding possible stolen snowmobile. After taking information, this is a pending transaction on Facebook Market. Advised VIN would be needed in order to check if stolen. After collecting further information, this would most likely be county jurisdiction (person of interest living up Moon Gulch). Referred to another agency.

• Assist K78 with Medical call at SMC (from Silver Mountain).

• Assisted D2 with an injured juvenile 600 block Bunker Avenue. Cleared, informational report taken.

• Dispatched to a disturbance on Caledonia. Cleared, verbal warning.

• Ran paper work to the court house. Made it to Big Creek before being dispatched to a stolen Jeep. Made it up there on the second attempt.

• Report of a stolen Jeep on the 200 block of Main Street. Jeep not stolen, said Jeep decided to go for a stroll (or roll) on its own and visit the parking lot at end of Main Street. No damage as it safely drove into a snow bank without hitting anything on its way down.

• Office call about harassment on Bunker Avenue. Person was claiming that the neighbors had put cameras and "bugs” (eight legged and electronic) in her apartment and were listening to her and now they were talking about her. She also stated that the neighbors rush to the laundry room so they can do laundry first just to make her wait to do hers. After a lengthy conversation, it was apparent that K73 was not going to convince her otherwise and when she stated that she was going to call the FBI, K73 gave her the number.

• Report of a dispute between tenant and property manager on Main Street. Told reporting party (tenant) that K73 would not tow her car because the property manager said so and that the rest was civil.

• Called back to Main Street for the same group of people. Now the tenant refused to leave the property managers office. K73 asked said tenant to please leave and told the tenant he can't make the property manager sign any paper work. Tenant was unhappy but left the building.

• While K73 was on the Main Street call, he was dispatched to a Gold SUV that was 8004. Due to him trying to keep the peace on Main Street, K73 was unable to locate the 8004.

• Report of stolen meds from the 500 block of Mission Avenue. Some pain pills were taken from an elderly man. Report taken, investigation on going.

• Office call from Pet Rescue asking if any officers had the heavy-duty light teal dog leash from the pound. They really like it and would love to have it back.

• Landline request regarding Domestic investigation from this weekend, spoke with the caller and gave the only information K74 could.

• Traffic stop at 700 block Bunker. Written warning for fail to start safe, citation for insurance, cite and release for possession of paraphernalia. Report taken.

• Report of juvenile issues, no specific location as it is reported to be taking place on the bus after school. School is now involved as are both sides' parents. Investigation ongoing.

• Alarm at 800 block W. Cameron, building checked and secured, walked through with keyholder as well.

• Attempted follow-up with parent from my disturbance from last shift. Cleared, negative contact.

• Impromptu code study session lead by professor Groves.

• K73 and K78 was UTL on special leash.

• Words from the Chief: Message for the day “don’t stoop to one’s level just to make a point.”

• Received a big box of evidence from the lab. Placed items back in to the appropriate cubbies/frig.

• County assist at the Kingston Exxon for a suspicious male pacing and talking to himself, he later locked himself in the bathroom for a while. Male was spoken to and later arrested by 1216. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Suspicious vehicle idling in front of the city shop at 2 a.m., was a city worker getting there early for snow removal. NAT.

• Suspicious vehicles in the city park parking lot, both vehicles un occupied. NAT.

• Follow-up on open cases (video review on active investigation as well as contact with parties involved).

• Vehicle crash, hit and run Yoke's parking lot. Suspect was located and charges are being submitted. Someone backed into a truck in the parking lot. Witness took video of the vehicle leaving. Yoke's surveillance shows who was driving. Open and shut!
