Remains identified as belonging to missing man
A body found in an undeveloped area off of Wrenco Loop Road has been identified as belonging to Daniel Glennon.
Glennon, 32 years old at the time of his disappearance in December 1995, lived alone on Wrenco Loop Road and was last seen in Sandpoint in December, 1995. Glennon’s family reported him missing in May, 1996, after they had not heard from him.
Glennon was known by neighbors to enjoy hiking the area, and he also told his family he might move out-of-state for different employment.
Over the years, multiple searches were conducted in the area, including by a diver searching a nearby beaver pond. No leads were developed explaining Glennon’s disappearance, and the case has remained open ever since.
The identification follows the discovery of possible human remains on Oct. 27, 2021, by a logging crew in a wooded, undeveloped area off Wrenco Loop Road.
An initial recovery of remains and clothing was made at that time. A visual inspection of the remains indicated they were likely decades old.
Preliminary investigation indicated the manner of death to be suicide. Glennon’s remains are currently being forensically examined at the University of Montana.
