Wayne Daniel Summers, 86

Wayne Daniel Summers, 86, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Jan. 23, 2022, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Emmet, Idaho. Wayne was the son of Arthur and Elsie (Williams) Summers.

Growing up, Wayne moved around a lot with his family. They eventually settled in the Silver Valley. Wayne attended and graduated from Wallace High School Class of 1953. After graduation, Wayne joined the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, Wayne returned home to the Silver Valley. Wayne worked for many years at the Bunker Hill Mine as a mechanic until his retirement.

In 1973, Wayne was married to Lee Crow at Dr. Carbury’s Chapel in the Garden.

Wayne was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Lee Summers; a daughter, Danielle; and four step-children, Teresa, Larry, Karen and Jim. Wayne is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg.
