Frank C. Mellen, 89

Frank C. Mellen was 89 years old. He resided in Shoshone County, Idaho. Frank was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Oct. 2, 1932, to James Mellen and Imagene Orrison. The family moved to Idaho in the 1930s. Frank was married to Geraldine J. Gardner in 1956, while he was serving in the Army.

Frank worked for the Galena Mine in Silverton, Idaho, for 40 years. Frank lived and passed away in his home in Smelterville, Idaho, on Jan. 27, 2022. Frank loved to go fishing, hunting and camping, and he loved being with family and friends.

Frank is survived by his two daughters, Laura Dittner and Marry Welch; and his three sons, Fred Mellen, Clifford Beck and Robert Beck. He is also survived by his grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at the VFW Hall in Osburn, Idaho. This will be a potluck and everyone is welcome.
