Michael “Mike” L. White, 78
Michael “Mike” White of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away July 16, 2022, at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Wash., after an unexpected sudden stroke.
Mike was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Kellogg, Idaho, to Violette (Byers) and Norm White. At a young age, he moved to Alaska with his family while his step dad worked on the Alaska Pipeline. He returned and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1962. After graduating, he became an electrician at Bunker Hill, and after its closure, continued working at various mines and also for the IBEW.
He married Margie Jenicek on April 10, 1965, and after first living in Kellogg, they then moved to Pinehurst to raise their family while building their home. Mike enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s events, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling to locations in the U.S. and Mexico, cooking, raising a garden, working outside on the property and his dog, Rosie.
Mike is survived by his son, Scott of Pinehurst, daughter Jennifer Finlay of Pinehurst, grandchildren Cade Finlay and Kaci Finlay, cousin Dee (Bill) Coker of Kingston, brothers-in-law Charles Jenicek of Kingston, Darrel Jenicek of Post Falls, Joe Jenicek of Cataldo, Larry Jenicek of Medimont, and sister-in-law Eilene Weeks of Pinehurst. He is also survived by several siblings and many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margie, brother Doug Greer and sister Dru Kline.
Prior to going to the hospital, Mike was active and busy camping, drinking his evening scotch on the porch with friends, and even replacing siding on the house; this is exactly how he wanted to go, playing by his own rules right up to the end.
In honoring his wishes, there will be no service held.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
