Pressed on Pine to open for customization needs
WALLACE — When Mark and Anna Berger first bought the building on Pine Street, they planned on using it for Building Maintenance and Supply. Anna then thought of Ashlee Myles, who had been pressing for about four years as a side job while her children were in school. After having lunch together, Pressed on Pine was started.
“We first started talking about this in September,” Myles said, “Anna was ready to get it started. It’s been in the works for a few months.”
As soon as the idea began, they all began working together quickly to get the business started. The Bergers, along with Myles, and other friends and family began designing the storefront.
They completely redid the front room, new flooring, new paint job, and have been working on all the shelving.
Currently, Pressed on Pine has a Sublimation printer, a unique Direct to Film printer, and will be getting an embroidery machine in the next few weeks.
This has been a group effort between friends and family members of the Bergers.
“Everyone has put in effort somewhere. This is like an extension of Ace Hardware, and Northwest Mine Supply and everyone is putting in effort somewhere,” Myles explained.
Employees of Pressed on Pine attended a convention in Long Beach which helped make them connections in the business, and eventually assisted them in buying a Direct to Film printer.
This is exciting because this type of technology is not readily available in the U.S., and has only been available in the U.S. for three years.
D-T-F printing is a heat transfer process that has the ability to last as long as traditional silkscreen prints. The image is then printed out on film, and can print out any ink designs.
The print is able to be put on a white background and can be put in anything. It uses a powdered adhesive on it and then it is able to be stuck on just about anything.
“This isn’t limited to clothing,” Myles said. “You can put this on anything that can withhold heat. Like skateboards, skis and snowboards. The options are pretty much limitless.”
This is looking to be a one-stop shop for customers looking to have mass orders for companies of 500 or more employees or personalizing smaller orders for an event like a bachelor party.
Pressed by Pine is planning to be open at the end of March. They are currently working on learning the new machines, and getting to the point when they will be able to fulfill orders. A grand opening will be held at the beginning of June. Pressed on Pine is located at 516 Pine St. in Wallace. For more information, contact Pressed on Pine at 208-556-3950.
