Marquez Campbell, Isabel (Izzy), 63

| March 22, 2022 2:55 PM

After fighting courageously for over five years, Isabel “Izzy” Marquez Campbell lost her battle with cancer on March 6, 2022. She was born on March 23, 1958 in Cortez, Colorado to Manual and Stella Marquez. She attended high school in Cortez. When she moved to the Silver Valley (Kellogg, Idaho) in 1980, she met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Campbell. Bob and Izzy were married on June 23, 1981.

Izzy was the most selfless person, always willing to help others and always thought of others before herself. Izzy always had a smile on her face.

She worked for Community Action for 15 years in Kellogg at the food bank. She went on to work for North Idaho College for 22 years until she retired. While working at NIC she received the Sterling Silver Award twice. She loved working at NIC and was loved by everyone. Izzy’s family would like to extend special thanks to her NIC extended family whom she loved so very much and treated her so well.

Izzy was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure to know her. Izzy loved to play Bingo! If you mentioned going to play Bingo, she would be the first one in the car! She also loved to play Yahtzee and, no matter how ill she was feeling, she would never turn down a chance to play.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob of Smelterville, Idaho; daughter, Alice (Chad) Bailey of Post Falls, Idaho; son, John (Debbie) Mascarenas of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; stepson, Jon (Jody) Campbell of Spokane, Washington; grandchildren: Chaz (Ashley) of Post Falls, Idaho; Rachel of Post Falls, Idaho; Ayla and Harley of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; Justice (Marcelo) of Italy; Evan (Kadie) of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Izzie Anne of Post Falls, Idaho; Everley, Raynlynn, and Zander all from Mount Pleasant, Iowa; sisters: Angie Dow of Faust, Alberta, Canada; Rachel Marquez (Rod Thomas) Kellogg, Idaho; Yvonne Barron of Pine Creek, Idaho; Olivia Church of Elko, Nevada; stepsister-in-law, Jackie Ivers; brother, Ronnie ( Judy) Marquez of Lewis, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Izzy was preceded in death by her parents, Manual and Stella Marquez; her brothers, Frederick, Paul, and sister, Priscilla.

A special thank you to her entire care team, especially Dr. Elizabeth Grosen, Dr. Jeffrey Allen at Kootenai Clinic Cancer Services, and all the clinical and infusion nurses. Also a special thank you to Hospice of North Idaho and the Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene who compassionately cared for Izzy in her final days.
