SCSO conducts Drug Suppression Emphasis
Did you see an increase of police proactivity within the Silver Valley last Tuesday and Wednesday?
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, Pinehurst Police Department, and the Idaho State Police conducted a successful Drug Suppression Emphasis within several local communities last week with the goal of cutting down on illegal drug use and distribution.
SCSO Cpt. Jeff Lee explained that "The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Idaho State Police, will continue conducting emphasis operations throughout the summer months to help keep our communities safe."
Accumulated stats from the two day emphasis include:
Traffic Stops– 73
Arrests– 13
Infraction Citations– 13
Warnings– 34
Approximate Drug Totals:
Methamphetamine –9 ounces
Heroin – 21 grams
Cocaine – 28 grams
Meth/Fentanyl ‘Mexi-Blues’ Pills – 196 (count)
Marijuana – 11 grams
THC Oil – 5 grams
In addition to what is listed previously, law enforcement also seized large amounts of drug paraphernalia, drug scales, packaging material, and three firearms. All of these items were associated with the criminal drug investigations.
SCSO states that further investigations are in progress and nothing further will be released at this time.
