Moon Pass remains closed for holiday weekend

| May 25, 2022 9:55 AM

Moon Pass will remain closed as crews continue to clear and repair the roadway after winter.

The delay is due to harsh winter and spring conditions that have resulted in more than 150 downed trees, a slide, sinkholes, a wash-out, damage to Tunnel 34, and extreme amounts of soft mud.

Most of the issues have been repaired, however the roadway is not yet safe for travel.

Weather will play a significant role as to when the road will reopen.

Our office will notify the public once the pass has been deemed safe for travel.

Please obey the Road Closure signs and barricades.
