Delores 'Dee' Rae Holbert, 86
Delores “Dee” Rae Holbert, 86, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Nov. 6, 2022, at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg. She was born June 26, 1936, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Dee was the daughter of Fred and Joanna (Blum) Roe.
Dee attended and graduated from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint. She was united in marriage to James “Ed” Holbert on June 26, 1954, in Newport, Wash. James “Ed” passed away in 2003.
Dee moved to the Silver Valley in the early 1950s. She had first worked as a clerk for the Panhandle Office Supply, traveling to the different mining companies of the Silver Valley taking orders and delivering supplies. Dee then worked at Morrows Department Store in Wallace and then served as an aide for the Elk Creek School of the Kellogg School District. She then went to work as a clerk for the Sunnyside Drug in Kellogg and lastly at the Stein’s Hallmark Card and Gift shop.
Dee was a member of the Kellogg Lady Elks, a member of the Women's Bowling Association and loved traveling to bowling tournaments. She had also been a member of the Big Creek Women's Softball team.
Dee loved taking care of her grandchildren, cooking and enjoying her house plants. She loved visiting with people and attending social events.
Dee is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Severns of Plains, Mont.; three sons, Ed Holbert (Cyndi) of Lewiston, Idaho, Fred Holbert (Diane) of Homosassa, Fla., and Kenny Holbert of Kellogg; five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Twila Wyatt of Spokane, Wash. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; and two sisters, Laurie and Carol.
Cremation will take place and graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Sandpoint.
