LETTER: Disappointment for local dems

Well, I can no longer say our Shoshone County's legislators are all democrats, which is the way it has been for some time. However, the Republicans elected this term are good people. I know them and feel assured that they will serve the county well. They are, I believe, good conservatives; sensible Republicans.

My hope is that they don't take the path of those Republicans of Kootenai County's Republican Central Committee, with its extremely radical posture of damaging such treasures as North Idaho College, and their seeming adversity to public education, and their ties to Idaho Freedom Foundation's extremism.

I hope I'm right to assume these Republicans would be tied closely enough to the historical democratic ideals of Shoshone County to keep a clear understanding of our needs and style of living.
