Sharron 'Lynne' Cummings, 84

| October 13, 2022 2:00 PM

Beloved wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma.

Lynne passed away Oct. 12, 2022, in Post Falls, Idaho.

Lynne was born July 29, 1938, in Kellogg, Idaho. Lynne was the daughter of Robert Turnbow and Lillian “Sis” Dupuis Turnbow.

Lynne was born and raised in the Silver Valley; graduated from Kellogg in 1956. Lynne was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Cummings on July 13, 1957. Bob and Lynne recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.

Lynne was the glue of the Cummings family and her community as she committed her time, energy and love to every single person and project she encountered. Lynne was also an avid walker be it with her beloved pets, family or friends. Lynne also kept her mind and library busy with her fast-paced reading and kept her hands busy with her many crochet and sewing projects.

Lynne especially loved her summers as she spent them in the sun “Up the River.” “Up the River” was a beloved place by every member of the family as we all have special memories there but the most dominant feature is that Mom/Dad and Grandma/Pa would be there. Be it going rafting, fishing, card games, reading, music, or even work it was and will remain a place of love.

Lynne is survived by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Cummings of their family home in Kellogg, Idaho; her four children, Tammie Olberding (Rick) of Diamond Lake, Wash., Scot Cummings (Leslie) of Pinehurst, Idaho, David Cummings (Kamai) of Spokane Valley, Wash., and Heidi Herndon (Dave) of Post Falls, Idaho.

Seven grandchildren — Jeremy Olberding (Jessi), Bryce Olberding (Autumn), Lynnsie Schexnider (Jared), Travis Cummings (Brandon), Stefanie Marvin (Garrett), Hillary Titus (Eric) and Tyson Herndon.

Seven great-grandchildren — Taylor Olberding, Mason and Hailey Olberding, Weston and Hayden Schexnider, and Harrison and Eleanore Titus.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert “Mickey” Turnbow.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg, with Pastor Art Fleming officiating. A reception luncheon will be held at BPO Elks in Kellogg, Idaho; everyone is welcome. There will be a family interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children or The Fuller Center for Housing.
