Dale Wickam, 80

| October 17, 2022 12:20 PM

Dale was born in Seattle, Washington on July 4, 1942 to Robert Wickam and Charlene Wyatt.

The family moved to Wallace and Dale graduated from Wallace High School in 1961.

After High School, Dale joined the United States Air Force and served at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane from 1961 1964.

After leaving the service, Dale returned to the Silver Valley and served as a firefighter in Wallace, being promoted to Fire Chief in 1971 and worked there until 1985.

In the early 1970's Dale caught the eye of Doris Christmann while they both worked at the Wallace Elks, and they were married on November 18, 1972. They started their life together and raised 6 children.

Dale was very community minded and did whatever he could do to help out. He was a member of the Wallace Elks, but his "standout" role in the valley was being a scorekeeper and announcer for various Wallace Miner Sports for over 55 years.

He loved his family and his community. In his retirement he took a special pride in his 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A potluck memorial is planned for Friday, November 18th 5:00 pm at the Wallace Elks. Family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Sather Field.
