Bernice (Dougall) McCorkle, 89
On Oct. 11, 2022, Bernice (Dougall) McCorkle, a beloved mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother went home to the Lord at the age of 89, following a hard battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
She was born in Firesteel, S.D., to the late Lester and Neva Dougall. When she was young, her parents and three siblings traveled to North Idaho and made it their home. She met and married Albert (Bud) McCorkle in 1950 and was a wife and mother until she started work at Lockhearts Pharmacy until 1971. She then went to work for Dr. Richard Rice, DDS, from 1991 to retirement in 1993.
Upon retirement, they moved to Post Falls and wintered in Parker, Ariz. She loved to travel, crochet and spend times with her loving family. She was known for her sense of humor, fierce determination, generous spirit and the love of the lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Homer Dougall; husband Albert (Bud) McCorkle and daughter Charlotte (McCorkle) Young.
She is survived by son Buddy and his wife, Debi; daughter Doreen; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of North Idaho, Schneidmiller House for the loving care they gave her.
She will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date to allow family to gather together.
