CANDIDATE PROFILE – (D) John Hansen, County Commissioner District #3
John Hansen is seeking re-election to the position of Shoshone County Commissioner for District #3.
Hansen is running against Jeff Zimmerman in the upcoming General Election.
Hansen is a Silver Valley native and graduated from Wallace High School in 1963 and attended North Idaho College for one year.
Hansen lives in Wallace with his wife of 58 years and together they have three children, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Hansen has been District #3 commissioner for the past six years and believes that completing projects is among the top priorities for anyone in the seat.
Hansen’s original campaign centered on unity within the different departments in Shoshone County, and now that a lot of that has been accomplished he feels like it’s time to work together to help Shoshone County.
“I’ve enjoyed learning the inner workings of the county government and learning how I can affect positive change in our community,” Hansen said. “The first term is all about learning what you can and can’t do, the second term is knowing what you can do and hoping that you made the right moves. I’d like to be elected again so I can finish the projects that I’ve started — I truly enjoy being your commissioner.”
