CANDIDATE PROFILE – Nicholas Elam, Coroner
Nicholas Elam is seeking election to the position of Shoshone County Coroner.
Elam is running as a registered write-in candidate against incumbent coroner Rick Smith.
A United States Military veteran, Elam lives in Shoshone County with his wife Miranda, twin daughters Madison and Maizie, and his son Brodie.
Elam was honorably discharged from the military and is a decorated combat veteran.
Elam is a graduate of Kellogg High School and believes his experience as a military EMT and with Mine Rescue will serve him well in the position of coroner.
“My overall goal if I am elected is to earn the community's trust while furthering my education within the field to provide the highest quality of death investigation with compassion for our community and work to reduce preventable deaths,” Elam told the News-Press.
Elam is running on a platform to reduce preventable deaths by increasing education and outreach to the communities and believes that those things are missing from the current coroner.
“I would love the opportunity to serve the people of Shoshone County,” Elam said. “Go exercise your right to vote on November 8th.”
