CANDIDATE PROFILE – (D) Tamie Lewis-Eberhard, Clerk

Tamie (Tamala) Lewis-Eberhard is seeking re-election to the position of Shoshone County Clerk.

Lewis-Eberhard is running unopposed in the upcoming General Election.

She is a graduate of Kellogg High School, with business degrees from North Idaho College and Lewis-Clark State College as well as training in budgets, levies, and project and human resource management.

The eldest of four children, Lewis-Eberhard has one child of her own, a son, Eric Fields.

Lewis-Eberhard takes her job as clerk very seriously and describes herself as ‘very involved’ with all aspects of the position.

These aspects include budgeting, auditing, grant tracking, payroll, human resources, accounts payable and receivable, fund management, records management, elections, social services, court document processing, case management, public defense, court hearings (in-person and Zoom), jury selection processes and procedures and all other judicial support.

Lewis-Eberhard has an extensive business background, both as the business owner of Tam’s Traveling Toilets (2014-18), as well as with the Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management as a logistics chief, the Hagadone Corporation, as well as with Verizon.

If re-elected, Lewis-Eberhard plans to continue using her experience to guide her.

“If re-elected I hope to accomplish the responsibilities of this position using my core values of honesty, integrity and trust, with full transparency,” Lewis-Eberhard said. “My extensive business and managerial experience will allow me to make sound decisions in the best interest of the County and our citizens.”

She has been busy in her first terms as clerk, mainly in the digital realm as she has overseen a near-completely digital upgrade of the Shoshone County Courthouse, all; through the use of grant funding and budgeted monies.

Lewis-Eberhard is a current commissioner for Shoshone County Fire District #2, attends American Lutheran Church, is a member of the Kellogg Elks and the National Rifle Association.

She believes that meeting community needs with limited resources is among the key issues that come with the position, while also being flexible to the continuous adjustments that tend to come with being an elected official in a local government.

She also believes in maintaining a sound budget that meets all requirements and passes all audits, while also maintaining balance and relationships between county officials and agencies.
