Dawn Jolene Kitchen, 60
We are sad to announce the passing of Dawn Jolene Kitchen of Smelterville, Idaho, on Sept. 18, 2022; she passed away peacefully at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg, Idaho. Dawn was born April 15, 1962, in Kellogg. She was the daughter of Delmar and Donna (Peterson) Kitchen.
Dawn has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life. She had served as a cook, a cashier, bartender and worked in the deli for many businesses including, Yoke's, Alberts, Pinecreek Tavern, the Sunshine Inn and the Conoco Gas Station.
Dawn was a fun-loving, spunky, caring kind soul. She enjoyed where she lived and was loved by so many. Dawn enjoyed sharing fond memories of growing up in Pine Creek, her love of cooking, baking and would always share her favorite recipes. She also enjoyed collecting beautiful rocks and digging for old bottles and insulators in old logging camps. Dawn will be remembered for her sense of humor, her laugh, her great hugs and her warm smile. Even though she didn’t have much, she would help if she could. Dawn was a force to be reckoned with, but loved her family with her whole heart. Truly, anyone that met her, was like her family.
Dawn is survived by one son, Jay Eversole (Shannon Nansel) of Smelterville; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, David Kitchen (Helen) of Pine Creek and a special cousin, Roxann Eversole of Smelterville. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Donna Kitchen; one daughter, Melinda Eversole; one brother, Darren Kitchen and her second husband and the love of her life, Jim Hayslip.
Upon Dawn’s request, no services will be held.
