Silver Valley Easter weekend

The Silver Valley has a lot to offer this holiday weekend and for those looking to eggs-perience the joy of Easter in the Silver Valley you can with these egg-ceptional events.

Friday, April 7

• Pinehurst Library is hosting an event for adults to get creative, create a unique lunch sack basket, act like a kid again, create a basket and color your own unique eggs. Taking place from 2-4 p.m., with limited class size, sign up online at communitylibrary.net/library/pinehurst or call 208-682-3483.

Saturday, April 8

• The Stardust Motel will host ‘This Way to Easter’ from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an easter egg hunt for ages 0-10 with lots of candy and a glow-in-the-dark hunt with free food and prizes. The Easter Bunny will be around for photos and an appearance from special guest cowboy poet Cornbread Wallace reading original poems. Wallace Food Bank donations are gladly accepted. The event will be held at The Stardust Motel, 410 Pine St., Wallace.

• Real Life Ministries is holding its Annual Easter Eggstravaganza, starting with an easter egg scavenger hunt for ages 1-5 at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., there will be a showing of the family-friendly film "Minions: The Rise of Gru" with free popcorn and hot dogs. The Flashlight Egg Hunt for ages 6-12 will begin at 8 p.m. Each egg hunt will have eight gold eggs for a special prize. Children participating in the flashlight egg hunt must bring their own flashlights. All children will need an Easter basket and check-in beforehand. Located at 708 N. • The Pinehurst/Kingston Lions will start the Easter festivities with a parade at 11 a.m., beginning at The Tall Pine at 203 N. Division St., in Pinehurst. After the parade, a luncheon will be held at the P/K Lion’s building around 11:30, located at 106 Church St. The Easter Egg hunt will take place at 1 p.m. behind the Avista substation.

• The Osburn Lions Club will hold an Easter Egg hunt at 1 p.m. at Osburn Lion’s City Park on Yellowstone Avenue.

• The Smelterville Lion’s Club will hold an Easter Egg hunt at 1 p.m. at the Smelterville City Park located at 117 First Ave. in Smelterville.

• Shoshone County Fire District No. 2 will hold an Easter Egg hunt at 1 p.m. at the Kellogg City Park located at 2 Hill St., Kellogg.

Sunday, April 9

• Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be held at the Smelterville Walmart from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free, but donations are requested to be made to the Children’s Miracle Network. Located at 583 Commerce Drive, Smelterville.

• Northwest Family Church, Silver Valley, holds a free family fun event from 4-6 p.m. at Kellogg City Park. Bring the family for free hot dogs, popcorn, inflatables, face painting and prizes.

• Dave Smith Motors and American Lutheran Church are holding a free community event with more than 1,000 eggs and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Age groups for the egg hunts will be 0-4, 5-8, 9-11, and 12 and over. The event will take place in the lot next to the Smelterville Walmart at 281 Commerce Drive in Smelterville starting at 2 p.m.

• Lookout Pass will hold a Mountain Wide Easter Egg Hunt. Some eggs have just candy, where others are winners of fun prizes. All eggs will have a number on a piece of paper inside of them. Bring the egg (you can eat the candy) to the prize reveal at 2 p.m. on the back deck. Lookout Pass is located off I-90, Exit 0 in Mullan.
