David Lee Guidry, 70

| August 18, 2023 4:45 PM

On Aug. 9, 2023, David Lee Guidry, our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Dave has been a lifetime Silver Valley resident and had been residing in Kellogg for the past 30 years at the time of his passing.

Dave was born in Wallace, Idaho, to Richard and Dorothy Guidry and was one of seven siblings. He graduated from Wallace High School and soon began working in several mills and mines in the area.

In October of 1979, he met his soon-to-be wife, Vicki, and a few years later he went back to college to get his degree in computer programming, which later turned into another stretch of college to earn his associate's degree in both programming and computer repairs. He was dedicated and eager to learn more, and always put his heart into everything he did.

In his younger years, he enjoyed the outdoors, long drives to see the countryside, swimming and playing board and card games. His knowledge and his quiet studious nature made him a very strategic opponent to any game he played, and he often let you win just to play fair. His good-natured soul and his tremendous patience made him an excellent teacher and the go-to guy for problem-solving.

He is preceded in death by both parents and one sibling.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of 44 years; three daughters, Stacy (Brad) Schultz of Athol, Idaho, Heather Guidry of Clarkston, Wash., and Misti Guidry (Cody Kelley) of Kellogg, Idaho; two granddaughters, Bryce (Connor) Ellison of Post Falls, and Raegan Kelley of Kellogg; three step-granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date and David’s wishes will be honored.

Memories of David and messages of condolence may be shared with his family online at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, is assisting the Guidry family with arrangements.
