William 'Bill' Gray, 69

Bill (William) Gray of Burke, Idaho, went home to the angels Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023. Bill was born in Spokane, Wash., on May 22, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Rosella Gray, brother Randy Gray and three sisters, Janice Risley, Lana Hanson and Barbara Christian. 

Bill leaves behind his wife, Sarah Gray; three daughters, Janet Hampton, Tish (Pat) Herndon, and Julie Geiser; his niece, Amber Collins (whom he raised as his daughter); his sister, Rene Farmer; and five grandchildren, Nichole Hampton, Cassie Hampton, Ryanna Kincheloe, Nathan Herndon and Kiera Herndon. He also leaves behind John and Matt Gray, multiple nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Cholerys.

Bill loved fishing, hunting, camping, hiking into Revette, Blossom, Loss and Gold lakes (just to name a few), and just the great outdoors. His hobbies were woodworking, such as making lamps, planters, keychains, jewelry and driftwood. He enjoyed painting mountain scenes, eagles and mining camps.

His occupations included diamond core drilling in Alaska and around the Silver Valley, but logging was his passion. He loved his logging family and friends.

Bill was a very generous, kind and loving man who helped a lot of people out. He had a passion for helping people less fortunate.
