Burna 'Penny' Lee Warren, 90

Burna Lee “Penny” Warren, 90, of Kellogg, Idaho, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and auntie to many, passed away at her home Dec. 4, 2023. Burna was born Oct. 2, 1933, in Lucile, Idaho to Bernard and Velma Mendy, and was the oldest of nine children. She was married to her husband, Edward Warren, on May 1, 1953, before he passed away in 2003. Together, they had three children.

Burna loved to garden and was regularly making raspberry and huckleberry jam for those in her family.  She was a member of the Lady Elks and loved to volunteer her time. She worked for the North Idaho Blood Bank, to help take donations, and enjoyed helping out those in the community. Her home was open to family and friends, and anyone who came to visit always left full. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Burna is preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil, Reuben and Phil, her sister, Theresa, and her twin sister, Audrey, as well as her son, Terry. Her memory will be carried on by her surviving family: Her brothers, Alex, Jack and Herold, her son, Bennie, daughter Linda, grandchildren Edward, Aaron, Jeffrey, Joseph and Brenden, and her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and all those she helped in the community.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Mountain View Congregational Church in Kellogg, Idaho, with a potluck reception to follow.
