| December 22, 2023 1:00 AM

William H. Higgins "Bill," 87, of Kingston, Wash., and Mesa, Ariz., passed away at his home in Mesa on Dec. 5, 2023.

Bill was born in Osburn, Idaho, on July 1, 1936, and later graduated from Wallace High School.

After serving in the Army, Bill attended the University of Idaho, where he received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He later earned a master of business administration from the University of Washington.

Education was important to Bill, and he encouraged and supported his kids and grandkids to attend college and to continue learning throughout their lives.

Bill worked in electrical engineering for Boeing, Art Anderson and other companies, and his work took him to Southeast Asia, where he met and married Rohani Higgins on Feb. 26, 1985, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

They welcomed the birth of their son, Sean, on Dec. 27, 1986. Bill and Rohani enjoyed many adventures together in their 38 years of marriage. They shared a love for golf, hunting for mushrooms, travel, good food and spending time with family and their many friends.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rohani Higgins, children Barbara Robbins of Shelton, Wash., and Michael Higgins of Boise, Idaho, grandchildren Oliver Halsey, Ellie Higgins and Jessica Higgins, and his brother, Rod Higgins of Spokane Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Katherine Higgins, and son Sean Higgins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (https://www.wtbbl.org/), and encourages everyone to get out and play a round of golf with friends and family.
