WALLACE — Senior Britany Phillips scored a game-high 23 points for the Miners in a Scenic Idaho Conference win over the Jaguars at Kirby Krulitz Court.

Junior Kayla Hasz scored 14 points for Wallace (8-3, 1-1 SIC), which travels to the Post Falls JV on Jan. 8.

Junior Ella Martin scored 23 points for Genesis Prep.

SANDPOINT — Senior Macy Jerome scored 16 points for the Wildcats, who led 47-46 early in the fourth quarter before freshman Jordyn Tomco hit a pair of 3-pointers to push the Bulldogs to a win at Les Rogers Court.

Tomco finished with a game-high 24 points for Sandpoint (7-1), which was without starter Karlie Banks due to injury, starters Aliya Strock and Demi Driggs and reserve Chloe Laybourne due to illness.

“We played hard and put up a lot of points,” Kellogg coach Jana Nearing said. “Our scoring was pretty even within our top six players. All of our kids worked hard and learned a lot. We’re proud of how we battled against them.”

Kellogg (5-4) will compete in the Freeman Tournament on Dec. 27.

ST. MARIES — Senior Wyatt Holmes scored 10 of his 14 points in the second quarter, also grabbing six rebounds for the Lumberjacks in a nonleague win over the Miners.

Sophomore Isaiah Gustaffe had 11 points and junior Landen Holmes added 10 points and 11 rebounds for St. Maries. 

“We had some good balance tonight,” St. Maries coach Bryan Chase said. “We had a lot of guys that played, so that was nice. We’ve had some younger guys step up and are starting to compete for spots right now.”

Freshman Henry Larson scored 10 points for Wallace (1-6), which hosts Kootenai on Jan. 9.

MOSCOW — Senior Parker Childs scored a game-high 25 points for the Bulldogs, who forced 11 second-quarter turnovers in a win over the Wildcats at ICCU Arena.

Four players scored six points each for Kellogg (4-4), which competes in the Freeman Tournament next Wednesday and Thursday.
