James R. Braun, 86

James Ray Braun, 86, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away Dec. 20, 2022, at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho. James was born on Aug. 12, 1936, in Strausburg, N.D., a son of the late Bernard and Magdeline (Gardner) Braun.

After graduating high school, James enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was an entrepreneur and had owned several business and transmission shops. He enjoyed riding snowmobiles, camping, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include three sons, Scott Braun of Kalispell, Mont., Brian Braun of Seattle, Wash., and Brandan Mountain of Wallace, Idaho; two daughters, Brenda Hancock of North Bend, Wash., and Vicky Mori of Ocean Shores, Wash.; two grandchildren, Laura Hancock and Alora Mountain; a brother, Michael Braun of Venturia, N.D.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, Wash.
