KELLOGG — It took roughly nine months, but the new Jeep/Wagoneer Showroom at Dave Smith Motors is open and taking care of customers.

When DSM General Manager Troy Hojem broke ground on the building in April 2022, he was excited to be at the forefront of the Wagoneer expansion.

On Wednesday, along with nearly 30 other Dave Smith employees, Hojem celebrated the opening of the showroom with a special ribbon cutting.

Last year it was revealed that Jeep was pushing its widely popular Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models separately from other models in the Jeep family — as a premium extension of the Jeep family, the Wagoneer needed a premium facility at DSM to show off the luxury vehicles.

And just over two weeks ago, the new showroom was finished.

All the salespeople working in the new 6,100-square-foot building are Jeep certified — and clocking in at $3.4 million, the new showroom is definitely the sleekest and most luxurious of the buildings in the Dave Smith section of Kellogg.

Located in the former playground area of old Sunnyside Elementary School along Cameron Avenue, North Idaho’s newest Jeep/Wagoneer showroom boasts multiple glass offices, two different lounge areas, room for numerous different vehicles to be displayed, all while maintaining an open feeling.

“It’s really exciting for us for this new showroom to be open,” Hojem said. “It’s a great addition to our dealership that should serve us well for years to come.”

The new state-of-the-art showroom includes a covered breezeway and charging areas for the electric vehicle (EV) models Hojem explained.

The Wagoneer is among the most popular luxury sport utility vehicles on the market, with more than 80,000 Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers sold in the past two years — the Grand Wagoneer was the top-rated luxury full-size SUV according to Motortrend, out-performing category stalwarts the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.

With a marketing split that is reminiscent of the Dodge and Ram Trucks distinction that happened more than a decade ago, the new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer bear no Jeep insignias anywhere on the vehicles, not in the owners’ manuals that accompany them.
