Charlene E. Barker, 79

Charlene Elaine Barker, 79, a lifelong resident of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Jan. 8, 2023, at Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg. Charlene was born on July 27, 1943, in Kellogg, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Marvel Gilman.

She attended local Kellogg schools and had worked for a while at the 50,000 Silver Dollar Bar in Haugan, Mont. Charlene adored her family and dedicated her life to them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her younger years, Charlene enjoyed the outdoors and going on camping trips. She also enjoyed biking, car rides, playing games and working puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Charlene is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Gilman; and four brothers, Herb, Bob, Rick and Larry Gilman.

Survivors include two sons, Benjamin (Kimberly) Barker and Roger (Ruth) Barker; two brothers, Walter Gilman and Glen Gilman; three sisters, Darlene Mendy, Jessie Stout and Ramona Mendy; nine grandchildren, Brad Barker, Joe (Dana) Barker, Chris (Alethea) Barker, Ashley Barker, Kristen Barker, Heather Barker, Tara Whitmore, Trevor Christmann and Kayla Allmer; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charlene requested no services be held, and cremation to take place.
