Bill “Billy” Joe Butler, 93

Bill “Billy” Joe Butler, 93, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Feb. 26, 2023, of natural causes. Bill was born on Jan. 6, 1930, in Brownfield, Texas, a son of the late Leslie Harland Butler and Elma Lucy Hibler Butler.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until his honorable discharge in 1955 on the USS Valley Forge. Billy was an electrician at IBEW 477 and retired to pursue his long awaited desire to hunt and fish.

In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his eternal companion, Doris “Jo” JaJuan Butler, who passed away in 2016; his siblings, Jack Butler, Joyce Miller, Byron Butler, Shirley Wadsworth and Sue Gibson.

Survivors include his children, Kathy (John) Kory, Janet (Don) Vestal, Debra Cook, William Butler and James (Kristan) Butler; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a brother, Paul Butler.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 902 S. Division St., Pinehurst, Idaho. Graveside services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
