WALLACE — Wallace’s live music scene is heating up. The Blue Raven recently opened its doors in the quaint town and quickly became an entertainment hub with dance classes, educational opportunities and live music.

This Friday, the bar will host the Spokane-based indie-rock band Snacks at Midnight for anyone who wants to shake off the cold weather blues.

“We did a lot of research on the bands in the region and Snacks at Midnight was one that stood out to us,” explained The Blue Raven owners, Adam and Sharon Guthrie. “This is the first full band at the taphouse and we wanted it to be a party. It’s been a long winter around here and we could all use a party, couldn’t we?”

The Snacks are a group of five longtime friends raised in Spokane and describe themselves as a mix of indie-rock and pop with a funky sound.

“These guys are all about good music and a good time, you can tell they love what they do, and we love that. They put on a great show,” the Guthries said.

The band was recently named in the Inlander’s Best of Readers Poll 2023 and won second place in Best Band, Mostly Originals.

“When we decided to open The Blue Raven, live music was a major motivating factor for us,” the owners said. “The space just lends itself to a music venue so well! Our goal is to bring great entertainers from a variety of musical genres to the Silver Valley.”

Snacks at Midnight are only the beginning of live music at the taphouse, as they are still looking to bring some of the best bands from the region to their venue.

“We plan to feature bands from around the region on a regular basis,” the Guthrie’s said. “Coming up in the next couple of months, we have bands coming from Coeur d’Alene, Missoula and Spokane. For a regularly updated schedule, you can check out our events page on Facebook.”

In addition, to live music, The Blue Raven hosts a series of classes, perfect for the beginning of spring, including planting and growing vegetation and raising bees with local experts in the different fields.

The best place to find information on The Blue Raven is to visit their Facebook page.

“In addition to live music, we are hosting a series of classes and the space is also available to book for private events,” the owners explained.
