Glen 'Goatch' Richard Gotcher, 69

Glen “Goatch” Richard Gotcher, 69, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away peacefully March 23, 2023, at his home. Glen was born on Jan. 31, 1954, in Butte, Mont., a son of Ronald and Joan (Spencer) Gotcher.

On Aug. 27, 1973, he married the love of his life, Debbie Kay Barnes. They moved to the Silver Valley where he found work at the Lucky Friday mine and soon after started a family. He was a good father and shared his favorite activities with his family which included watching football, skiing, camping and fishing. He loved everything about fishing and tied his own flies to fuel his passion.

Glen lost his greatest love, Debbie, to cancer in 2008. He then moved to Elko, Nev., and worked at the Barrick gold mine for a few years before returning to the Silver Valley for his retirement in 2015.

Glen leaves behind his children, Sean (Amanda) Gotcher and Michelle Brownson; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Verdon (Frank); four brothers and his beloved dog, Sunny.

A celebration of Glen’s life will be held for friends and family from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at The Wallace Inn (Galena Room) in Wallace, Idaho.
