Huckleberry Campground closed for upgrades
Stillwater Electric from St. Maries is scheduled next week to begin electrical upgrades at the Huckleberry Campground and Recreation Area on the St. Joe River.
A Bureau of Land Management press release said the project will bring all camp sites up to 50 amps, which will better accommodate modern RVs and provide a more reliable electrical grid.
To complete the work, overnight camping will be unavailable after Monday, and extend until at least late summer.
Day-use recreation activities will still be available for visitors on the west end of the Huckleberry Recreation Site.
BLM will maintain on-site volunteer camp hosts through the season.
The primary area of the campground, including the RV dump station, will be blocked off.
