Karan Kay Lees, 80

Karan Kay Lees, 80, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away Oct/ 29, 2023, at Pacifica of Pinehurst, Idaho. Karan was born April 25, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minn., a daughter of the late Herb and Dorothy (Proffitt) Kinsey.

Karan graduated from Wallace High School in 1961 and later went on to marry Robert “Bob” Lees on Sept. 22, 1961. Robert passed away Nov. 15, 2022. Karan was a stay-at-home mom raising her family. She enjoyed camping, cooking, puzzle books, her grandchildren, family pets and spending time having a cup of coffee on the deck with her husband, Bob.

In addition to her parents, and husband Bob, Karan is preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lees Jr., and her brother, Charles “Chuck” Kinsey.

Survivors include her daughters, Kari Hill (Joe) of Wallace, Idaho, and Cindy Melvin (Tim) of Logan, Ill.;  and siblings, Herb Kinsey (Mary Lou), Donna Sundstrum, Pat Kinsey (Janet), and Randy Kinsey (Lisa). Karan is further survived by her grandchildren, Janeen Lawson, Robert Melvin, Matthew Melvin, Dylan Hill, Stephanie Hill and Morgan Hill. Karan is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
