Kellogg Tree Lighting Ceremony set for next weekend
KELLOGG –– Silver Mountain will be hosting its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony next weekend.
The ceremony has acted as the unofficial gateway to the holiday season as part of Thanksgiving weekend for the past several years and continues to be one of the Silver Valley community’s winter highlights.
This year, vendors will be set up at the resort base with handcrafted items that will be available to purchase.
As the evening progresses and the temperatures dip, festival-goers will be able to grab a cup of complimentary hot cocoa and a few Christmas cookies while they warm themselves around one of the many fire pits and outdoor heaters throughout the base grounds.
There is even a rumor that Santa Claus will be in attendance to light the Christmas Tree and give kids a chance to offer up their holiday wishes.
Once the tree is lit, and the wishes are heard, the skies over Kellogg will light up with the ceremony’s annual fireworks show.
"The Tree Lighting Ceremony is always a favorite tradition here at Silver Mountain," said event coordinator Gus Colburn. "We're happy to continue to involve the community vendors, and also a huge shoutout to Grocery Outlet for sponsoring the free cookies. Make sure to stop by their booth."
After the ceremony concludes, Silver Mountain will be hosting the premier of the newest Warren Miller film, All Time. The snowsports film discusses the birth of ski towns as well as features breathtaking footage of Maine-based skier Donny Pelletier.
Tickets to the premiere are limited to just the first 120 people and are available to purchase online.
Silver Mountain’s Tree Lighting Ceremony is Saturday, November 25, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Warren Miller film begins at 7:30 p.m.
