WALLACE — Senior Britany Phillips scored 11 of her game-high 33 points in the third quarter for the Miners in a nonleague win over the Lumberjacks at Kirby Krulitz Court.
Phillips hit four 3-pointers for the Miners (1-0) in their season opener.
Wallace head coach Nichole Farkas was pleased with how her team opened up the season and tipped her cap to the Lumberjacks for their effort.
“Iliana Lewis played exceptional defense and did the nitty gritty to help get the job done,” Farkas said. “I was pleased with our teamwork and hustle. There are definitely things to work on, but we are off to a good start. St Maries never gave up and worked well in the post.”
Danika Sloper scored 14 points for St. Maries (1-1).
