Shoshone County tax bills sent out on time
WALLACE — Shoshone County Treasurer Karey Eddy announced Monday that the 2023 tax bills were sent out on time Nov. 27.
In a prior news release, Eddy had stated that a typo resulting in a multi-million dollar property value assessment error in Kootenai County also had a slight impact on the levy calculation for Shoshone County properties in the shared Consolidated Library Network.
The Shoshone County Treasurer’s Office was able to recalculate and run all the tax bills, and with the help of several other departments, they were able to meet the actual statutory deadline of Nov. 27.
There will not be a delay in getting them out and there will be no cancellation of penalties and interest on some property owners who pay their taxes after the Dec. 20 deadline.
In the news release, Eddy expressed her appreciation for all the assistance provided by her staff and other county departments to get the job done on time.
