TaTa's Party to benefit cancer patients set for Saturday
WALLACE — The TaTa’s Party began out of a sense of sisterhood when friends in the Silver Valley banded together after one of them was diagnosed with breast cancer.
That first wine night 12 years ago has transformed into a community-wide fundraiser.
Organizer Aubrey Stovern said it’s been exciting to see the annual event grow over the last decade into something “for the community from the community.”
Funds raised during the live auction go toward the Shoshone Cancer Resource Center. The center supports cancer patients by annually giving out pharmacy vouchers and gas cards to families undergoing treatment.
The live auction includes donated items and decorated bras, wreaths, pumpkins and gift baskets. Bras are artistically designed to either represent fun aspects of life in the Silver Valley such as hunting or are made with items from local businesses.
The event begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Elks, 419 Cedar St. This year will feature a wine wall, beer pull and a coffee cart.
“We are so happy to have a platform for our community members to help other community members battling cancer,” this year’s Facebook event stated.
