Due to recent overcrowding at the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office, deputies interacting with the public have been trying to pare back limiting jail bookings to felony and violent crimes. Others have been cited and released, with the exception of drug manufacture or transporting drugs.

Deputies with Shoshone County Sheriff's Office intercepted a drug trafficker in late September during a routine traffic stop and discovered approximately 12 pounds of marijuana being trafficked in the trunk of the vehicle.
SHOSHONE COUNTY — When speaking about the recent number of drug trafficking charges, Seth Green of the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office said, “Things are going to get worse before they get better.”
