How long have you lived in Idaho and in your city? 4 years in Idaho, 8 months in Kellogg

Marital Status: Married,

Family: My entire family moved from San Diego to Northern Idaho in 2019. My family includes my lovely wife of 51 years, our daughter and her husband, and their two beautiful daughters, my son and his wife and their wonderful twin daughters and baby son. They live in their homes in Hayden.

  • What experience has prepared you for this office?

After leaving the Navy, I built and enjoyed a long career as an Engineer, Executive, Sr. Executive, and business owner in the high-tech industry. I have run business units for large high-tech corporations and created and run my own high-tech businesses. I am experienced in managing and successfully running both small and large organizations

  • What is the No. 1 issue/problem you believe you will face if elected, and how will you resolve it?

After speaking with many Kellogg residents, very near the top of their list is the increase in property taxes based on what is felt to be unreasonable property value assessments imposed by the Shoshone County Assessor’s office. One of the homeowners that I spoke with told me that her assessed value was within $5,000 of the ‘Fair Market Value’ of her home. Working with the County Commissioners and the Assessor’s office, I expect to determine how the assessments are calculated and, if in error, through whatever methods available to me, require a re-assessment of the homes in Kellogg.

  • What do you consider a top responsibility for the position you’re seeking?

The most important responsibility of a Councilman is to listen to the residents of the city and represent them to the best of his or her ability. To be an advocate for the people in whatever issue or concern that needs to be addressed. There are certainly specific issues facing Kellogg today such as lack of growth, empty storefronts, little tourist draw, ad infinitum. None of these issues can be solved with a city council that does not work as a representative of its citizens. All of the issues facing Kellogg can and will be solved as the City Council and the community work together to reach the common goal to benefit and improve the lives of all Kellogg’s citizens.

  • Why should voters choose you?

In the 2020 presidential election, Kellogg voted overwhelmingly for President Donald J. Trump. These results show that Kellogg’s City Council does not represent the voice of the community of Kellogg. Just as in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, Kellogg’s city council is composed only of democratic council members, representing and pushing the democratic agenda, unchallenged. As a Kellogg City Councilman, I will be a Republican/Conservative voice in the city council and push back against the same political ideology that has destroyed so many Democrat-controlled cities like San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle.
