Halloween and harvest fun

Fall and Halloween celebrations from Trunk or Treat events to market gatherings will take place throughout October from Athol to Harrison.

Here is a list of seasonal activities happening this month:

Oct. 21

​Halloweekends at Silver Mountain | This event will also occur Oct. 28, noon to 5 p.m., Silver Mountain Gondola Village, 610 Bunker Ave., Kellogg. Face painting, games, free hot chocolate and cookie decorating for all ages. A costume contest will start at 4:50 p.m. with the winner announced at 5 p.m. Mo the Moose will be on site for photos and will lead a trick-or-treating convoy through the village.

Oct. 26

Scarywood Heroes Weekend | Also taking place Oct. 27 and 28, at Silverwood Theme Park, 27843 N. Highway 95, Athol. Free admission for firefighters, active military, veterans, police and emergency medical services personnel. Experience haunted attractions, roaming monsters and most of Silverwood's signature rides in the dark. Show ID at the front gate.

Oct. 27

Harvest Festival Trunk or Treat | 6-8 p.m., Real Life Ministries North Campus, 30447 Roughstock Road, Athol. First harvest festival in new building. All are welcome. Games, snacks, music and tons of candy. Free event.

Hayden’s Friday Night Frights | 6-7:30 p.m., Hayden Meadows Elementary School parking lot, 900 E. Hayden Ave. Drive-though Halloween treat giveaway.

CTE Trick Or Treat Open House | 3-6 p.m., North Idaho College Parker Technical Education Center, 7064 W. Lancaster Road, Rathdrum. An open house-style trick-or-treating adventure through the halls and labs. Lab tours will also be available.

​Oct. 28

Kootenai County Farmers' Market Harvest Festival | 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Riverstone, 2151 Main St., Coeur d’Alene. Free candy and treats for kids. Costumes encouraged. Craft vendors, food booths, live music and more.

Trick-or-Treat for a Book | 10 a.m.-3 p.m., The Well~Read Moose, 2048 N. Main St., Coeur d'Alene. Children ages 0-12 are invited to come dressed in costume to trick-or-treat for a free book. More than 900 books are expected to be given away. Nearby businesses will also participate in trick-or-treating. Look for the orange and black balloons.

Kelloween | 3-6 p.m., all ages; after 7 p.m., ages 13 and older, old McConnell Building lot, 210 S. Main St., Kellogg. March through a haunted house and participate in a costume contest while listening to live music. Special trolley rides will bring participants through town to the beer garden and food vendors.

Rathdrum’s Trunk or Treat 2023 | 5-8 p.m., Main Street, Rathdrum. Safely trick or treat for candy out of decorated car trunks. Register vehicles by Oct. 6 at Rathdrum Parks and Recreation, 7851 W. Main St., Rathdrum, or online at rathdrum.sportsites.com.

Super 1 Rathdrum's Trunk or Treat | 5-7 p.m., 15837 N. Westwood Drive, Rathdrum. Safely trick or treat for candy out of decorated car trunks.

Family Halloween at the Kootenai County Jail Museum | 5-7 p.m. 7940 W. Second St., Rathdrum. Trick or trunk and warm up on a tour of the haunted jail. Donations will be accepted for maintenance of the jail.

Autism Society's Happy Halloween | 5-8 p.m., Harding Family Center, 411 N. 15th St., Coeur d’Alene. Costume contest, treats, crafts, prizes, music, food and a sensory-friendly room. Halloween movies with PG ratings will play in the background.

Spirit Lake’s Fall Festival | Noon to 6 p.m., downtown Spirit Lake. Organized by Spirit Lake Parks and Recreation. Family-friendly city festival, followed by a trunk or treat at 6 p.m.

Kellogg Haunted House | 7-10 p.m., Kellogg School District Administrative Annex 790 Bunker Ave., Kellogg. Immersive haunted house with haunt zones and student actors. Children must have an adult accompany them. Cost of entry is $5.

​Oct. 29

Trunk or Treat | 1:30-3 p.m., The Vine Church, 9140 N. Reed Road, Hayden. Free community event for kids. Candy, hot chocolate, raffle prizes, bounce houses, lots of fun and treats. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

​Oct. 31

St. Maries Trunk or Treat | 4:30-6 p.m., on Main Street from Sixth-through-Ninth streets and on Seventh Street from Center to College avenues. A free trunk-or-treat candy giveaway. Costumes encouraged. Family event for all ages.

Halloween at The Stardust | 5-8 p.m., at Stardust the Stardust Motel Wallace, 410 Pine St. A trunk or treat event at a "haunted" motel. Call 208-752-1213 and ask for KK for details.​

​Trunk or Treat | 5:30-7:30 p.m., Harrison City Park, 251 Harrison St., Harrison. Food, hot chocolate and candy in the trunks of decorated cars. Costumes encouraged. Presented by Kootenai School District No. 274's Kids' College.

Trick or Treat at City Hall | 3-5 p.m., Post Falls City Hall, 408 N. Spokane St. Collect treats, get candy, dress up and have a good time.
