27th annual Brewsfest this weekend
KELLOGG –– For almost 30 years, Brewsfest has been a highlight on Silver Mountain’s summer calendar and once again the celebration of craft beer looks to be a hoppin’ good time.
21 breweries and cideries will be featured at the 27th annual Brewsfest, including local favorites like Radio Brewing and Wallace Brewing Company. Bigger breweries like 10 Barrel and Sierra Nevada will also be featured.
Along with six drinks tokens, each ticket grants the buyer a gondola trip to the top of Silver Mountain, where the breweries are set up inside the mountain’s amphitheater. Live music is provided while people peruse the breweries and sample the beers or ciders they brought to the event.
This time around, music will be provided by the Moops, followed by headliners Robin Barrett and the Coyote Kings, featuring Tiphony Dames. Megan Sullivan will perform during the Brewsfest afterparty in the Silver Mountain Gondola Village.
Each year, Silver Mountain uses the event as a way for local groups to raise funds by volunteering to man the event. Volunteers will help with everything from ticket taking, all the way to pouring drinks. This year, Kellogg High School Athletics will handle all of the volunteer duties during Brewsfest.
Brewsfest is the longest-running event in Silver Mountain history and marketing coordinator Gus Colburn is excited to keep the event alive and well.
"The forecast for Saturday looks perfect for tasting beer and listening to music at the top of the mountain,” Colburn said. “We're excited to keep the Brewsfest tradition going, we have a great music lineup and a huge variety of beer to sample."
Brewsfest is Saturday, August 10, from 1 to 6 p.m. The Brewsfest afterparty runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Silver Mountain Gondola Village. Tickets are available for purchase at www.silvermt.com, tickets will also be available for purchase at the Silver Mountain Resort ticketing booth on the day of the event but will have a slightly increased cost.
