WALLACE –– A special edition 1-oz silver coin commemorating the 140th anniversary of the Sunshine Mine is now available at the Sierra Silver Mine Tour gift shop.
The Sierra Silver Mine Tour is known for giving people an immersive mining experience, but manager Stacey Strange leaped at the opportunity to allow visitors to take a piece of Silver Valley mining history home with them.
Through various connections and relationships, Strange was introduced to Tom Henderson, the General Manager of the Sunshine Mine, and they discussed the current operations at the historic mine and the possibility of minting a special coin to celebrate the milestone anniversary.
