Deputies responded to a report of an active shooter after two people working for a timber company reportedly were fired upon around 9 a.m. on Monday morning.

61-year-old Steven Meile, the alleged shooter, was taken into custody without incident, and no injuries were sustained.

During his first appearance in court on Tuesday, Meile was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to a logging accident near Clarkia.
