Caden Fields-Brown, 29

| December 17, 2024 1:00 AM

It is with broken hearts we share that our beloved daughter and bright force of nature, Caden Summer Fields-Brown, left this realm Dec. 2, in Portland, Ore.

Caden was born Aug. 1, 1995, in Sparta, Wis. She arrived surrounded by loving friends and family and was celebrated and loved for the entirety of her 29 years. As her parents, we were always in awe of her talent, her confidence and her kindness and often overwhelmed by her fearlessness.

We moved to Kellogg, Idaho, in June 2001. Throughout her formative years, Caden was an eager participant. She was involved in gymnastics, snowboarding, golf, drama, served in several offices in student government, was an honors student and student mentor, started a photography club, was part of the “Joy Bells” select choir, went to Girls State, held the role of drum major and was on her senior homecoming court. After her graduation from Kellogg High School in 2013, she attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, the University of Arizona in Tucson and North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene.

Though her final years were characterized by struggle, Caden was constantly creating, writing songs, painting and sculpting. She was an advocate at heart, always looking out for those less fortunate, willing to help in any way possible. She was, until the end, a light to those around her. A loving spirit, a truth-teller and a kind, kind human.

We will formally honor Caden’s memory Aug. 1, 2025, her 30th birthday.
