KELLOGG — Sophomore Jordyn Stutzke scored a game-high 23 points for the Kellogg Wildcats in a 61-38 win over the St. Maries Lumberjacks in the Central Idaho League opener for both at Andrews Gymnasium on Monday. 

“We started real quick and shot the ball really well,” Kellogg coach Jana Nearing said. “Jordyn came out and hit three 3-pointers in the second half that really solidified our lead. We played aggressive and rebounded the ball really well.” 

Junior Dani Henrikson had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Kellogg.

KELLOGG — Dani Henrikson scored a game-high 19 points and 20 rebounds for the Wildcats in a nonleague win over the Jaguars at Andrews Gymnasium. 

“We were plagued by turnovers all game, and shots weren’t falling,” Kellogg coach Jana Nearing said. “It looked like we were a little tired from the game Monday night, but the effort and hustle was still there. I was proud of the no-quit attitude in all of the girls, even when things felt unorganized.” 

Jordyn Stutzke scored nine points for Kellogg.

SPIRIT LAKE — Lucas Vallieres hit a pair of jumpers in the closing minutes for the Tigers, who held off the Miners for the second time in four days in a nonleague game. 

“Lucas hit some big shots down the stretch for us tonight,” Timberlake coach Mike LaFountaine said. “The guys did a good job down the stretch. Wallace is a good team and they shot the ball really well.” 

Cooper Miller scored 17 points, Julian Davis 16 points for Wallace. 

Nate Dykeman scored 19 points, Vallieres 15 points and Tyler Engelson 13 points for Timberlake.

KELLOGG — Draeden Taylor scored 15 points for the Wildcats in a win over the Jaguars at Andrews Gymnasium. 

“We got off to a good start, but turned it over a bit too much in the second quarter,” said Kellogg coach Mike Martin, whose team led 16-6 after the first quarter. “They cut it to 24-23, but we responded really well after that. Our resiliency was good to see tonight.” 

Radley McDonald scored 13 points, Ty Cheney had nine points and nine rebounds for Kellogg. 

Spencer Farrell and Dylan Tosh scored nine points each for Genesis Prep.

Tri-State Invitational  

COEUR D’ALENE –– Colton Storey finished fourth, Carsun Hinkelmann took seventh and the Kellogg Wrestling Team finished in the top half of a crowded field at the annual Tri-State Invitational at North Idaho College.  

The Wildcats had 10 wrestlers compete at the event, which features the best wrestlers from Idaho, Washington and Oregon.  

Storey (113) lost a 3-1 decision to Post Falls’ Matthew Hamilton in the third-place match. Hinkelmann (120) beat Trandyn Lundquist of Mead, 2-1.

Lakeland Girls Tournament  

RATHDRUM –– Kellogg’s Kalayah White took second, while teammates Zoie Lawson and Brooke Hayes finished third at the Lakeland Girls Tournament.  

White (145) lost to Kahli Brown of Post Falls in the championship. Lawson (107), beat Coeur d’Alene’s Jaiden DeTienne by sudden victory. Hayes (152) pinned Lakeland’s Kiera Balch.  

Kellogg and Bonners Ferry tied for fifth place as a team.
