Frances 'Juanita' Bohannon, 71

| February 27, 2024 1:00 AM

Mom took her angel wings and danced into heaven on the evening of Feb. 15, 2024. She received a call, an offer you cannot refuse. She has a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Mom is dancing with her husband, Phillip Wesley Bohannon, and playing music, Phil on his guitar, Mom on her piano or accordion, while singing as they used to always do here in this life. She is hugging her mom and dad, Floyd and Nina (Hamilton) McCoy, whom God blessed with her birth Feb. 17, 1952. On that day, she joined her older brother, Wayne McCoy, and sister Linda Sue McCoy-Taylor. Five years later, her younger brother, Jay McCoy, joined the family. They grew up in Wardner and Kellogg, Idaho, with a tight bond … THE MCCOYS! She loves her sister and brothers immensely. Mom graduated from Kellogg High School on June 3, 1970. Michael Terry Thomas was her high school sweetheart and they married Sept. 11, 1970. They were blessed with their only daughter June 10, 1971 … “ME” Tracy Thomas-Casady.

Mom and Dad eventually went their separate ways in life while still sharing the love they had for me. On Sept. 22, 1985, Mom married the love of her life, Phil Bohannon. Phil preceded her into heaven, where he welcomed her with open arms. They are eternally together in God’s grace. The highlight of her life was the birth of her granddaughters, Kassandra (Kassie) Brown-Oakland and Erika Brown-English. To top that highlight, she was able to be a part of her great grandchildren’s life, Tyson English, 7 years old, and Brenna Oakland, 1 year old. Her love for all of us is profoundly strong. I found letters to each of us that she left in her Bible that are very intimate and special.

Those who knew her would be familiar with her vivacious stubbornness and colorful ways of expressing herself.

Mom loved her cats over the years. They were a special comfort to her. She would always leave food outside in case there was a “stray” one that needed to eat (even if it were obvious that they were “well” fed!).   If anyone would like to do something in her memory, she would want you to donate to a pet foundation or feed that stray, lol. A celebration of her life will be held in June of 2024.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Bob) Casady; granddaughters Kassie (Brandon) Oakland and Erika English; great-grandchildren Tyson English and Brenna Oakland; siblings Wayne (Mary Jean) McCoy, Sue (David) Taylor and Jay (Nancy) McCoy; nephews Robbie McCoy, Garren (Nancy) Taylor; nieces Kelly (Lonny) McCoy-Stafford, Julie Taylor and Diana (Luke) McCoy-Wilson, also great nieces and nephews.

I love you, Momma! We will join you in that eternal grace when our chores in this life are finished. I know you will have your angel wings around all of us.
