Marion 'Mick' Lyle Buzzard, 93
Marion (Mick) Buzzard, 93, a beloved resident of North Star Retirement Community in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (where he was known as the “Tomato Man”), passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at The Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Mick was born in Plentywood, Mont., on March 26, 1930, to Marion F. and Ester Victoria (Walters) Buzzard.
He lived in Polson, Mont., for many years. He was a Korean War veteran and was a lifelong member of the VFW and a 60-year member of American Legion Post 0013 in St. Regis, Mont. He was privileged to participate in an Inland Northwest Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in April of last year.
Mick is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Nona; and brother George “Corky.”
He is survived by stepdaughters Diane (Ron) Costa of Kingston, Idaho, and Andrea Sutton of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kristi (Jerry) Williams of Virginia Beach, Va., Kenn Sutton of Orlando, Fla., Tyson Costa and Leah (Jason) Figueroa of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at 3 p.m. at North Star Retirement Community, 2340 W. Seltice Way, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815
