Amelia Thomas, 102

Amelia J. Thomas, 102, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away Dec. 21, 2023, at Ivy Court of Coeur d’Alene. She was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Rossland, B.C., Canada, the daughter of William and Catherine Curnow.

Amelia graduated from Kellogg High School, Class of 1939. She married John Thomas in 1942 in Wallace, Idaho. John passed away in 2006.

Amelia enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family. She was a long-time member of the Kellogg Senior Center Knitting Club and made many beautiful afghans that she gifted to friends and family members.

In addition to her parents, Amelia is preceded in death by her husband, John, brothers William Galloway and John Galloway, and sisters Dorothy Galloway and Edith Jasberg.

Survivors include her children, Kathryn (William) Johns Solum of Coeur d’Alene and John C. Thomas of Laughlin, Nev., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
