Shari May Porterfield, 58

Shari May Porterfield, 58, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Jan. 1, 2024, at her home peacefully in her sleep without pain. Shari was born March 19, 1965, in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, a daughter of Daryl and Margaret (Mourning) Thaut. 

Shari grew up in St. Maries, Idaho, where she graduated from high school. Shari went on to become a Realtor, a profession she greatly loved. She raised her family in northern Nevada before moving to the Silver Valley. 

Shari loved her family more than anything, especially her two grandchildren, Owen and Dansby, who she called her “little angels”. She loved fuzzy jackets, warm socks, politics and a nice glass of expensive scotch. Her Christian faith and belief in Jesus was something she cherished. 

Shari now joins her parents, Daryl and Margaret, and her niece, Chelsea in heaven with our Lord, watching over all the people that she loves and just waiting to make us all laugh again. 

Shari leaves behind her two sons, Ian and Sonny Brown; and her two precious grandchildren, Owen and Dansby. 

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. We love and miss her, and, until we meet again.
