Donald Lee 'Chipper Don' Preston, 85

Donald (Don) Lee Preston, 85, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Jan. 21, 2024, at The Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Don was born June 29, 1938, in Kellogg, Idaho, a son of the late Charles Preston and Anges (Mathson) Preston. 

Don was a Wallace High School graduate, Class of 1956. He went on to work various jobs with the railroad before becoming self-employed. 

Affectionately known as “Chipper Don” by his friends, Don enjoyed golf-related activities, sightseeing and following college sports. He was also a lifelong N.Y. Yankees fan. 

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his brother, David Preston. 

Don is survived by his caregiver and friend, Richard (Lorrie) Northcutt, of Kellogg, Idaho. 

A celebration of his life will be held this summer at the Shoshone Golf Club with a date to be announced.
