Wava Nadine Beehner Boyce, 88
Wava Nadine Beehner Boyce, 88, of Pinehurst, Idaho, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away June 22, 2024, at Silverton Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia in Silverton, Idaho. Wava was born March 27, 1936, in Caliente, Nev., a daughter of the late Alton Chambers and Annabelle (Baggett) Chambers.
Wava’s family relocated from Nevada to the Silver Valley in 1948, where she attended grade school and high school in Wallace. She married Don Beehner on Jan. 29, 1954, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Don passed away in 1972. Wava later married Charles “Chuck” Boyce in 1991 in Pioche, Nev. Chuck passed away in 2009.
For 10 years, Wava was the director of the Wallace Mining Museum. She also had worked at the Oasis Casino in Mesquite, Nev., for 14 years. Wava was a camp host at Devils Elbow on the Coeur d’Alene River. Always active, Wava was the pitcher for the women’s Smokehouse softball team and on the women’s bowling league in Wallace. She loved taking long drives, going to garage sales and visiting a casino or two.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Don and Chuck, Wava is preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Chambers; one sister, Maryann Harrington; and one niece, Bonita “Bunny” Harrington.
Survivors include her four children, Don (Trudy) Beehner of Pinehurst, Idaho, Barbara (Mike) Kane of Boise, Idaho, Nora Stevens of Rose Lake, Idaho, and Matt (Minde) Beehner of Wallace, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Steve, Morgan, Jessica, Heather, Jordan, Felicia and Adrian; and 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Gary Chambers of Kellogg, Idaho, Dewayne Chambers of Phoenix, Ariz., Bob Chambers of Silverton, Idaho, and Kenny Chambers of Las Vegas, Nev; and one sister, Naomi Ballard of Osburn, Idaho. Wava is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Shoshone Funeral Services Chapel, 106 S. Main St., Kellogg, Idaho. Afterward, a luncheon will be provided at Shoshone Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Wava’s memory to your charity of choice.
